Governor of Riyadh Launches Zahra Association’s National Campaign for Breast Cancer Early Detection (October 2025)

Under the theme #EarlyDetectionMakesTheDifference, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, launched the latest national breast cancer awareness campaign. The initiative is organised by Zahra Breast Cancer Association in collaboration with ROSHN Group and Match Company, with wide support from leading organisations across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

The launch was attended by HRH Princess Haifa bint Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chair of the Zahra Breast Cancer Association, alongside distinguished members of the Board. Also in attendance were key representatives from the campaign’s principal partners, including Eng. Waseem bin Salah Kheshan, Acting Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at ROSHN Group, and Mr. Saeed Al-Aklabi, Vice President of Yazeed Al-Rajhi & Brothers Holding Company, representing Match Company.

During the event, Her Royal Highness Princess Haifa bint Faisal said: “For the fourth consecutive year, the National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign continues to receive the support of ROSHN Group as its principal partner. This ongoing partnership strengthens our efforts to promote the importance of early detection and encourage women to make breast cancer screening a routine part of a healthy lifestyle”. She also highlighted one of the campaign’s key developments this year: “This year’s campaign features a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education to deliver tailored awareness content across all school levels, supported by the National Center for Curriculum Development”.

The campaign utilizes targeted social media content and an interactive outreach pavilion to engage employees across multiple sectors. Through tailored internal communication programs, the initiative encourages organizations to champion breast cancer awareness within their own workforce. To streamline access to screening services, the Association launched an online directory mapping early detection centers across the Kingdom. Additionally, a series of community events will run throughout October, highlighted by the Zahra Walk, which is expected to draw 4,000 participants.

This year, Zahra Association has expanded the scope of its direct awareness efforts by reaching a broader range of audiences. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Association has developed dedicated awareness materials for students across all school levels, while also ensuring greater accessibility through content in Braille for people with visual impairments and in sign language for those with hearing difficulties. Additional tailored resources have also been created for other community groups, further extending the campaign’s reach and impact.
