Governor of Riyadh Region Launches Zahra Association’s National Campaign for Breast Cancer Early Detection (October 2023)

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, officially launched the National Breast Cancer Early Detection Awareness Campaign under the theme “#ResultsAreGood”. Organised by the Zahra Breast Cancer Association, the initiative is delivered in official collaboration with the Saudi Cancer Societies Alliance, the Mohammed bin Salman SANAD Programme, and Zahra’s principal partner, ROSHN Group

  

The launch was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Haifa bint Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chair of Zahra Breast Cancer Association, alongside members of the Board and Ms. Ghada Al Rumian, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at ROSHN Group. 

  

During the event, Her Royal Highness Princess Haifa bint Faisal said: “For the second consecutive year, the National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign continues to receive the support of ROSHN Group as its principal partner. This ongoing partnership strengthens our efforts to promote the importance of early detection and encourage women to make breast cancer screening a routine part of their lifestyle. It also reinforces our message that both women and men should seek screening and medical advice at the earliest opportunity.”  She added: “Throughout October, the campaign will feature a wide range of initiatives to support our beneficiaries, including workshops and awareness sessions held both in person and virtually across different regions of the Kingdom.” Princess Haifa also highlighted the Association’s strategic partnerships with government entities, private sector organisations, and civil society institutions, emphasising their vital role in delivering its development programmes and supporting the nationwide implementation of the October campaign

This year’s campaign encourages women to prioritize breast health and integrate early screening into their wellness routines. It also places particular emphasis on regular check-ups for women with a family history of the disease. Furthermore, the initiative underscores the vital role men play in supporting women to undergo routine screenings, while also raising awareness that breast cancer can affect men too, albeit rarely
